She Said She Said
The Beatles
Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney; released on "Revolver" album.
This song was written by John when actor Peter Fonda told him that he knew
what it was like to be dead. Originally the title was "He Said He Said", but
then John changed "he" to "she". The most interesting things in the song are
the change of meter from 4/4 to 3/4 (and 6/4) in the bridges, the doubling
of the tempo in the outro (they also used this trick in "Ticket To Ride"),
and a little thing that the harmony vocals are sung by George, not by Paul;
George also repeats the vocal lines of John in the outro. Paul plays an
excellent bassline, including sixteenth notes, long slides and things like
that. Anyway, it's a great one, and one of my favourites :-)
