This playing is not shred and is not free-style. Can Fransisco free-style shred?

dude screw the rules. if you can throw down an entire instrumental song like this than you should be allowed a little leeway. i mean, seriously. nobody else in this competition has something this complex or melodically pleasing. the majority of these entries are just kids sitting around in their room doing what they always do-noodling. no rhythm, nothing that sets it apart from the next kid noodling away. you have set yourself apart dude- kudos. \m/

well the contest rules also state the the video must be no longer than 2 minutes long. This is well over 2 minutes.

I dont think anyone truly has anything against Francisco. I just think people are fearful that this is merely a "popularity" contest. Since his numbers reflect popularity,their concern of that is unleashed here. Techincally,someone could put a vid of themself just TUNING a guitar for 3 minutes,make 100 email addresses,beg their family,friends,etc to vote,get 300 votes and actually win! People are thinking that the quality of playing is irrelivant (which,really it is) IF the top winners are solely picked by the highest votes. Basically,the source of the problem is, contestants dont like the judging process! IE-"most votes win". The rules are great for a "guy with most family/friends" contest,but not so great for a "super guitarist" contest. Dont get me wrong,Im not saying Francisco is not great-cause obviously he is! Im saying if the editors said,"OK,forget the votes,were gonna go in a room and pick the best ones ourselves"-There'd probably be many sighs of relief,and the "picking" on Francisco would stop. The voting rules are just disliked and not trusted,and people choose Francisco and his page to express that concern. Peace~!

There have been many comments regarding this particular video, most likely due to the fact that Francisco is currently on the top of the heap. Yes the sound is clean and and obviously Well Rehearsed, but there are a few problems with this and many other videos published on this site...

I suppose that you could consider this a shred, although many guitarists wouldn't... it certainly isn't a freestyle performance... Technically, most of the "top of the heap" videos on here have violated GW rules and are subject to disqualification. Publishing Copyrighted Material that is not your own is not only against the rules, it is against the Law. How many people have published copyrighted material on this site..? Did you get permission from the copyright owner to record and publish
that tune???

If you really feel like I am "him", tell the Admins of this page to actually check the IPs or anything that you want. Im from Venezuela, he is from Canada I believe. Do it, and then comment.

I made a comment "that" long because I had to say what I had to say, with the correct words and explain it correctly because frankly I cant understand how people are saying the kind of crap they are saying on this video, when it is actually as good as I stated. I say the good comments on the good videos and the not-so-good comments on the not-so-good videos.

Why would I say something thats not true? Also, dude, if you think this guy is not fast enough in "this" video, just go see his other videos on Youtube, Ive seen almost all the top 10 players of this contest and Im also a curious enough person to go check their other videos on YT from all the ones who have them and hell, some of the videos from them from YT are actually a lot better than the ones they posted as entries here, and some are as bad as the ones they posted here, but this guy actually has all videos as good and clean as this one, plenty of covers of great bands and they are played to perfection. Just go see it for yourself if you dont believe me.

There are only 2 persons on this whole competition that Ive seen that are good ENOUGH to actually deserve a title as the best "shredders", and they would be this guy and this other guy called Steve Orr, who shreds a lot more on his video and is as clean as this guy.

Shredding is nothing if it isnt clean. If you have something else to say, then do it, I would be glad to discuss with you but please, next time, leave the prejudice somewhere else before commenting.

dude a comment this long, it definitely shows that you wrote it with another account. take it like a man, you are not that fast, and frankly with a solo like that it would have been embarrising if you hadnt played it clean. There are lots of guys who get way more than they deserve on this and any other contest and you are one of them.
